When I was still up in Utah, ATC called me and said,
"Mom! You have to be home by Tuesday so you can proofread my speech!"
"Speech for WHAT?" I asked.
"I'm running for secretary at school!"
He was so excited.
When I got home, he had written his speech and it was good. Just a few motherly tweeks here and there.
On the way to Boy Scouts yesterday, we were discussing some poster ideas we could quickly throw together. Suddenly, he looked at me with his huge baby browns as they filled with tears. "Mom, I can't do this. Everyone hates me and there is another kid who's really popular running against me..."
Here's my baby in obviuos distress and all I could tell him is,
"Adam, even if you don't win, sometimes it's just having the courage to step out there. We'll make some cool posters and see what happens."
So, here's what we came up with in about 25 minutes!

I think you ARE the man and I believe YOU CAN!!
(good job, Mom!)
Hey I ran twice
(I think, but once for sure) for VP in high school and didn't win. It does take courage and it was fun to run.
